The University of Ottawa is known across the country for its dynamic and innovative Teacher Education Program. As of September 2015, the University of Ottawa now offers a two-year full-time Bachelor of Education ("B.Ed.") program which provides its aspiring teachers the unique opportunity to work with a leading team of educators who have strong research relationships and professional partnerships with different local, national and international communities. April 24-26, 2017 will mark the half-way point for first-year teacher candidates and the completion of the first graduates of the new two-year B.Ed. program. Over these three days, teacher candidates, and other members of the community, will have the opportunity to take part in the University of Ottawa's annual Student Teacher Conference, this year titled "Teachers Teaching Teachers". This conference will focus on the attitudes, knowledge and skills needed for success in the 21st century classroom. This event is designed for teacher education candidates by the ASTCC, which comprises of a group of dedicated peers from the Teacher Education Program. Speakers and workshops will reflect the themes of social justice, equity, inclusion, differentiation, innovation, and effective practices in teaching and learning.
